A
native of Indiana and Ohio, Tom's early art training took place
in Saturday morning art classes at the Cleveland Art Museum. Tom's
interest in art continued into his college years at Purdue University.
Upon completion of his career as a civil engineer, Tom began in
earnest to develop his watercolor skills.
About his art Tom states, “I prefer watercolor. The paint
brush comes into contact with the paper and things happen. There
is ample opportunity for the unexpected. The unintentional washes,
blending of colors, blobs and highlights are the bonuses of this
medium. In a nutshell, as I am painting, it is this chemistry of
the medium acting as my muse.”
